Experimental Science Chemistry Packs
Seven packs, available as PDF files, provide chemistry teachers with lessons that allow remote and distance learners to engage in experiments and labs essential to science classes. The first lesson in the series encourages scholars to purify a substance through dissolution, filtration, and evaporation. Next, scholars perform fractional distillation to separate rubbing alcohol from water. Then, using a household cleaning product, pupils observe a solid changing to vapor and then reappearing in a new place as a solid again. Other lessons teach scholars about magnetic separation of mixtures, how to use chromatography paper to identify the color components in food coloring and make a pH indicator from plants. The final lesson in the seven-part series walks learners through the titration process to determine the acid content of vinegar.
